The largest stadiums around the world started installing mostly very expensive electronic LED displays of cluster type. However, there are instances when fairly large stadiums for 40-60 thousand spectators (for example, in Great Britain and North America) choose to install modern lamp displays which are significantly cheaper and provide better brightness level compared to LED displays. Their only disadvantage is lower resolution on similar linear dimensions of the display. Earlier, gas-discharge systems were quite common in the European stadiums, especially in the former socialist countries. Smaller stadiums (up to 20 thousand spectators) in Great Britain and North America prefer electronic lamp video systems which are more attractive in price and offer acceptable image quality, much better than cheap LED or gas-discharge models.
